Description of the painting by Konstantin Yuon “Spring in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra”
KF Yuon is a Russian painter, art historian, theatrical figure and master of landscape. The work “Spring in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra” very realistically reflects the beauty of the facade of the laurel and its atmosphere. The artist of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra dedicated a significant number of his paintings. He was attracted by this place not only for its beauty, but also for its spiritual atmosphere. Lavra is more like a toy town.
There are luxurious cathedrals with gilded domes and old rickety wooden houses with a dilapidated fence. Such a contrast demonstrates the attitude of the Russian people to faith and spiritual fulfillment. The simplicity of the soul of an ordinary person echoes the temple of wisdom and the endless source of answers to all life questions. The artist portrays the town a little childish, it looks like a toy.
The picture is made with bright colors. Against the background of white snow, the colors become even brighter and richer. The beauty of nature is accurately conveyed, thin trees, as if they had fallen asleep for the winter, the sky of rich azure color indicates clear winter weather. It is impossible not to notice the originality of the Russian people. In the foreground are reaching women, two of whom are younger and one is aged. They are dressed in the style of the time. Warm winter clothes, lined with fur, reflect Russian fashion and traditions. Perhaps these women are sent with prayers on this clear day.
The road is covered with snow, it’s not easy to walk. Long skirts restrain movement, women pick up the hem, by themselves, freeing his step. The overall impression of the picture is pleasant. Work exudes pacification and I want to visit this magical place. It is a pity that in the modern world it is already impossible to observe such an amazing picture of real life.
