Description of the painting by Isaac Levitan “At the seashore Crimea”
In 1886, Levitan I. I. painted an elegant painting “By the Sea. Crimea”. The canvas draws attention with its calmness and pleasant colors of the Black Sea.
Rocky coast, blue waters, smoothly passing into the horizon line. The water surface shows that the day was sunny and windless. In the center of the picture is a large rock, which serves as a temporary haven for seabirds.
The sky almost merges with the sea. Levitan was able to convey the atmosphere of presence. The viewer smells the sea and the warm stones. These immensely huge rock formations prevent people from swimming.
Therefore, it is a quiet, uncrowded place. The artist could not pass by such a correct natural lines. The water has smoothed out sharp corners over the years. Therefore, each large cobblestone has smooth edges and attractive shapes. The sea is almost serene. He paid attention to the author and the reflection from the stony rocks.
This canvas can be endlessly admired. It soothes, I want to think about warm water, rest and pleasant sunny days. Gentle blue shades set up for peace and an atmosphere of calm. The picture takes the viewer to the coast of Crimea, as if you are standing behind a talented artist.
See how naturally insignificant waves are drawn on the surface of the sea. Yellowish sky indicates that it will soon be evening. The sun will set below the horizon, hence the characteristic glare on the water surface. Calm and silence, this is what the artist experienced when creating this seascape. It was a success, the shades and colors are especially well chosen. The canvas is realistic and beautiful.
