Description of the painting by Alexei Savrasov Sunset

The painting “Sunset” is made in the traditional “Savrasovsky style”. The artist sketched one of his favorite times of the day – sunset. In this picture, most of it is hidden by dense vegetation and trees, but this is done solely in order to fully reveal all the beauty of color and the riot of colors.

It can be seen that the sun is simply not able to pierce a single ray through the dense foliage of forest trees, but despite this, on the left side, the viewer still has the opportunity to observe its last rays. Thus, the sunlight tries to completely throw out with its light the contours of the trees and the meadow, which is located nearby.

At the same time, the artist deliberately focuses on the foliage of the last tree, which has bent its branch to the side and thanks to the light that falls on them, every single leaf that glows in a golden tone becomes visible. As for the sky, on it you can see the clouds, which all their color indicate that the sunset is already close, the artist purposely fills the sky with golden tones in order to further enhance this effect.

Thus, the sky acquires this deep yellow color and illuminates the road on which the artist stands at the time of the painting. It is expensive first along the trees and bypassing the forest rushes further. If you look at the soil, you can see that it is completely covered with stones, flowers and herbs that hardly make their way up through the thick layer of soil. It is evident that this road is already quite old and battered from driving on it, as evidenced by the numerous traces that remained after it had rained.

The artist is not without reason that he chooses such a place, it is obvious that it is often visited, but most likely, people rarely notice the beauty around. Therefore, the picture is quite relevant and even has some sharply social shade.
